Due to the ongoing RAAC concrete issues, multiple schools around the country were condemned on safety grounds, requiring temporary modular classrooms to help many of  the children return to School as quickly as possible.  Sector Group we’re instructed at short notice due to their proactive and professional approach to an emergency construction project. 

Following the initial site surveys, the following week, Sector Group we’re the first contractor on site, mobilising the site compound, which included site welfare, security fencing and signage to ensure a smooth and efficient start for the rest of the project team. All of which had to be carefully planned due to the School still being in operation. Week 2 involved the installation of 116no foundation pads, varying in height from 200mm to 1200mm and included excavating and a concrete pour in preparation for the building installation the following week. Week 2 also included tree removal, service trenching, ducting and tarmac reinstatement. 

 

Sector delivered the client requirements under extreme weather and time constraints to ensure the foundations and services would be complete in preparation for the building installation during the October half term holiday, a successful milestone for the project! Following the successful building installation by the client, Sector we’re able to complete the external foul drainage connections, reinstate trenches and install timber skirting in a matter of a week.
