This case study highlights Sector's comprehensive approach to a recent construction project, showcasing their commitment to meticulous planning and execution from the pre-construction phase through to on-site activities.

onsite  Phase 

week 1  -

Week one involved a site strip with a reduced level dig of over 250m3 of spoil, which then enabled setting out to take place before localised foundation pads could be excavated. The ground investigation surveys discovered bedrock at shallow levels which increased the workload of the excavation, however Sector employed the correct labour & machinery to tackle the project efficiently.

week 2  -

Week two involved the concrete pour for the foundations, laying the pre cast concrete piers for levels to within 1mm tolereance. By mid week, trenches were being dig for the drainage runs for both surface water and foul water pipework to be laid shortly after to include service ducting for power, electric, fire alarm and comms cables.

week 3  -

Week three is where the project really started to take shape, with reinstatement taking place around the site, trees planted, landscaping of areas in readiness for the building installation, all whilst bring manufactured off site.

week 4  -

Following the two day installation, Sector returned promptly to site in order to install the for staff to safely enter the building, allowing fit out works to continue in preparation for the building handover.

Pre Construction & Design Phase 

Sector engaged at early pre construction stage in order to gather as much information as possible prior to commencing the design phase.

 

Following numerous project meetings, we we’re able to begin the ground investigation & buried utility surveys to enable us to feed the information into the design of the external works. The scope included design calculations with CAD design for the surface water & foul drainage strategy as well as developing a foundation design.

  • Phase 2 geotechnical survey

  • Soil contamination testing

  • CCTV drainage survey

  • Foundation design

  • Surface water drainage design

  • Foul water drainage design

  • Trenching & ducting routes
